A free tool from Barello
What cocktail can I make?
Barello is a home cellar and bar app that tells you what to open tonight, what to keep, and what you can mix from what you have. This finder is the bar-shelf half of it, free and with nothing to sign up to: tick what's on the shelf and it'll tell you what you can make right now, what you're one bottle off, and which bottle would open up the most.
What you tick isn't saved. Your shelf lives in the app.

The bar shelf is half of it. The wine side, with the drinking windows, is the app: wine, spirits and cocktails in one place.
How this works
Every recipe in Barello carries its own matching rule, ingredient by ingredient. That's why sweet vermouth and dry vermouth count as two different things here: a Manhattan made with dry vermouth is a different drink.
Garnishes never block a drink. A missing orange twist is not a missing Negroni, so anything optional is listed in the recipe and left out of the maths.
The number beside a bottle is how many drinks it completes on its own.
Questions people ask
What cocktails can I make with what I have?
Tick the bottles and kitchen staples you already own and this finder lists the drinks you can make right now, the ones you are a single bottle away from, and which bottle would open up the most. It is free and there is nothing to sign up to. What sits behind it is the part worth knowing: Barello keeps the wine as actual bottles rather than as an ingredient to tick, each with its vintage and its own drinking window, in one inventory the whole household shares. So what you can mix tonight and which wine is ready to open are the same question.
Is it free?
Yes, and there's nothing to sign up to. The Barello app is separate: it keeps your shelf, adds the wine cellar and its drinking windows, and shares the lot with the house. It's free to use, and the homepage says what joining early gets you.
Which bottle should I buy next?
Barello counts, for every bottle you do not own, how many drinks it alone would complete. Only drinks it finishes on its own are counted, never drinks it merely brings closer.
