Godfather
Scotch and amaretto over ice, named after the 1972 film. As simple as a two-bottle drink gets: swap the Scotch for vodka and it's a Godmother.
What's in it
- 35ml (1¼ oz) Scotch whisky
- 35ml (1¼ oz) Amaretto
How to make it
- Fill a rocks glass with ice.
- Build the Scotch and amaretto over the ice and stir.

What cocktail can I make?Where it came from
No one knows who first mixed it. Its earliest known appearance in a recipe book is Brian F. Rea's Brian's Booze Guide of 1976, and Stanley M. Jones's 1977 Complete Barguide listed it among a whole family of 'God' drinks. Disaronno says it was Marlon Brando's favourite cocktail, a claim that rests on the brand's word alone.
