Scotch Sour

A Whisky Sour made with blended Scotch, which makes it lighter and drier than the bourbon version, with a little malt and smoke. The egg white is optional; it gives the drink its foam.

What cocktail can I make?

Where it came from

No one is on record as inventing the Scotch version; it is the old sour template made with blended Scotch. That template goes back a long way: a ‘Sour’ appears on a handwritten list of drinks at a Toronto saloon in 1856.
