Amaretto Sour
The bourbon is optional and it is what stops the drink cloying — Jeffrey Morgenthaler's fix, and he was right.
What's in it
- 60ml (2 oz) Amaretto
- 20ml (⅔ oz) Bourbon optional
- 25ml (¾ oz) Lemon juice
- 5ml (1 tsp) Sugar syrup optional
- 1 Egg white optional
How to make it
- Dry shake the amaretto, bourbon, lemon juice, sugar syrup and egg white hard for fifteen seconds.
- Add ice and shake again until the tin frosts.
- Strain over a big cube in a rocks glass.
- Let the foam settle before serving.
