What cocktail can I make?

Where it came from

DeGroff improvised it during a busy shift at the Rainbow Room's Promenade Bar in the early 1990s, for a customer who had tired of his usual summer gin and tonic. He first called his bitters-laced gin sour the Gin Thing. A guest who read fiction for The New Yorker asked for a classier name and, since the Hemingway Daiquiri was already on the menu, suggested the Fitzgerald so that F. Scott Fitzgerald would be represented too.
