What cocktail can I make?

Where it came from

Gregor de Gruyther created it at LAB in London, where it first went on the menu in 2005. John Gakuru, LAB's bar manager at the time, said there was no particularly intellectual story behind it, and drinkers often needed a few tries before they accepted its strength. De Gruyther died suddenly in 2009, before the drink had travelled far; Hawksmoor's frozen banana version in 2012 helped raise its profile. He is remembered for saying that no garnish can withstand its awesome power.
