A home bar app that scans barcodes, and what Barello does differently
Barello is a home cellar and bar app that tells you what to open tonight, what to keep, and what you can mix from what you have. noflair is a home bar app: scan each bottle's barcode, add the syrups and juices, and it shows which cocktails you can make. Working from the shelf you've got is where the two overlap.
Both work out what you can make tonight. Barello keeps the wine on the same shelf, with a drinking window that moves for where you keep it, and the whole house shares it.

The wine goes on the same shelf
In Barello the gin sits in the same inventory as the Barossa Shiraz, so tonight's list can offer a Negroni or a bottle of red that's ready, from one shelf. More on keeping both in one place.
Every wine carries a drinking window that moves for where you keep it. Barello reads ten years of daily temperatures for your town, asks which room the wine's in, and moves the dates to match. How that works.
It's the household's shelf, not one person's. Whoever finishes the gin, everyone knows it's gone.
Add the whole bar with one photo: Barello reads every label it can see, you tick the ones that are right, and they're in. Give a bottle a price and a size and it works out what a nip costs. How it keeps a home bar.
It's free to use. Here's what joining early gets you.

Join freeWhat noflair does well
It's built around the bar. A barcode is a quick way in for a shelf of branded bottles, it takes homemade syrups and juices as well, and it suggests drinks that use up ingredients before they turn. It helps pick the next bottle to buy, by brand, flavour or region, and there's a community for trading recipes. If the bar is all you want to keep, that's a fair reason to choose it.
What Barello doesn't do
No barcode scanner: it reads the label from a photo instead. No community and no shared recipes. If trading recipes with other people is the point, noflair does that and this doesn't.
Questions people ask
Is noflair free?
It's free to download, with three optional purchases on its upgrade screen: Supporter at $1.99, Gold at $4.99 and Platinum at $14.99, checked on an Australian account on 23 September 2026.
What's a good alternative to noflair?
Barello, if there's wine in the house as well as a bar. It works out what you can make from your bottles, keeps the wine on the same shelf with a drinking window that moves for where you keep it, and shares the lot with everyone in the house. It's free to use.
Is there a home bar app that tracks wine too?
Barello. The wine, the spirits and the cocktail ingredients sit in one household inventory, so the shelf that says which cocktail you can make also says which bottle of wine is ready tonight.
Can I add bottles without a barcode scanner?
In Barello, yes: one photo and it reads the label, or one photo of the whole shelf and it reads every label it can see. You tick the ones that are right, add the price if you want the nip cost, and they're in.
See your own shelf do this. About thirty seconds to join, one photo per bottle, and it's free to use.
