Delectable not working? Here's a free app for your wine ratings
Barello is a free app for your wine ratings and tasting notes, if Delectable has stopped working for you. Rate each wine you drink and note when and where you had it. Say whether you'd buy it again, even if you only had it at a restaurant.
Barello is a home cellar and bar app that tells you what to open tonight, what to keep, and what you can mix from what you have. It's on Google Play now, and on an iPhone it runs in the browser until the App Store app arrives.
Delectable is a wine label scanner with a personal journal and a feed of sommeliers and friends. Its iPhone app hasn't been updated since September 2021. Since May 2026, most of its US App Store reviews have said it stopped working or lost saved wines.

What's happened to Delectable
Its iPhone app was last updated in September 2021 and its Android app in April 2024. Both are still listed, and its website carries no notice about the app.
Of the eight reviews on the US App Store from May to September 2026, six said it had stopped working or lost saved wines. Adding a wine from its label stopped working for one person, and another's feed stopped updating. One user said more than 600 saved wines had dropped to about 25. Another said 349 reviews had gone.
Your tasting history, in Barello
Every wine you drink can go in, whether it came out of your own cellar or off a wine list. You give it a rating, when and where you had it, a note, and whether you'd buy it again. That last one is the answer you want in a bottle shop a year later.
The more you rate, the more it shows you what you keep going back to, by style, grape and country.
If two of you drink together, each person's rating stays theirs. When you both rate it highly, it says you both loved it. When you don't agree, it shows both scores, side by side.
And the bottles you keep
The wine you own goes in the cellar, one photo per bottle: it reads the label and you check what it found. Each bottle whose grape and style it knows gets a drinking window, the years it's at its best.
Then it asks where you keep it. A shelf in a warm room ages wine faster than a wine fridge does, so the dates move to match. It's free to use. Here's what joining early gets you.
Start with the last wine you loved. Takes about thirty seconds to join.
Join freeIf you're leaving Delectable, what to bring with you
If you can still see your wines in Delectable, keep your own copy of the list while you can, even if it's screenshots. It's your record of what you've loved, whichever app you use next.
There's no Delectable import, so the wines go in by hand: producer, name and vintage, then your rating. Start with the ones you'd buy again.
Yours to keep
Whatever you put into Barello, you can take out. In Settings, Download everything gives you your cellar, tasting history and ratings as spreadsheets you can open anywhere or take to another app.
It's free, there's no limit, and you don't have to ask anyone for it.

Delectable's features come from its own App Store listing, its update dates from the App Store and Google Play, and the notice check from delectable.com, all read 16 October 2026. Its reviews come from the US App Store, read the same day; the Australian store has none since April 2024. Its ratings, 573 in Australia, 25,983 in the US and 1,093 in Britain, come from the App Store on 16 October 2026.
What comes with it
The spirits and cocktails sit on the same shelf as the wine, so tonight's answer can be a bottle that's ready or a cocktail you can make. More on keeping both in one place.
The whole house shares one cellar, so whoever opens the bottle, everyone knows it's gone.
And it doesn't sell you wine. I'm Pat, and I built Barello after a decade of scanning wine into Vivino. What came back was offers to buy more, not advice on what to open.
What Delectable was built for
Pointing a phone at a label and finding out what the people who know wine thought of it. You could follow sommeliers, winemakers and friends, read their notes, and keep your own, with the people and places tagged.
What Barello doesn't do
No feed and no following: your ratings are for your house, not for an audience. No notes from sommeliers or other drinkers, no shop, no beer, and no Delectable import.
Questions people ask
Is the Delectable app still working?
Not for most of the people who've reviewed it lately. Its iPhone app was last updated in September 2021 and its Android app in April 2024. Of the eight reviews on the US App Store from May to September 2026, six said it had stopped working or lost saved wines. One user said more than 600 saved wines had dropped to about 25. It's still listed on both stores.
What's a good alternative to Delectable?
Barello. It's a free wine app built in Melbourne, on Google Play and in the browser on any phone, with the iPhone app coming. You rate each wine with when and where you had it. The bottles you own sit in a cellar that tells you when each one's ready.
Can I move my Delectable ratings into Barello?
There's no Delectable import. If you can still see your wines in Delectable, keep your own copy of the list while you can. In Barello, a wine you've had goes in by producer, name and vintage, then your rating and notes.
Can I get my data out of Barello?
Yes, all of it, any time. In Settings, Download everything gives you your cellar, tasting history and ratings as spreadsheets you can open anywhere or take to another app. It's free and there's no limit.
Does Barello have a feed like Delectable?
No. There's no following and no feed of sommeliers or friends. The people in your house see your ratings, but each person's score stays theirs. When you both rate a wine highly, it says you both loved it.
Try it with your own wines. It takes about thirty seconds to join, and it's free to use.
