Delete your account
Last updated 29 September 2026
You can delete your Barello account yourself, from inside the app, whenever you like. Or ask us and we'll do it for you.
In the app
- Open Barello and sign in.
- Tap the gear at the top to open Settings.
- Under Account, tap Delete my account.
- Read what will happen to your cellar, then tap Delete my account again.
It happens straight away, and it can't be undone.
What goes
- Your sign-in and your email address.
- If you're the only one in your cellar, the whole cellar: every bottle, label photo you took (including ones you replaced, or whose bottle you deleted), rating, tasted wine, drink you've logged, setting and invite link. If it was a Foundation household, its Foundation membership ends too, and isn't handed back if you join again.
- If you share your cellar, it stays with the others in it, because the bottles belong to the house, not to whoever added them. Your ratings, your notes on wines you've tasted and your name come out of it, and any invite link you made that hasn't been used stops working.
- Your sign-up record, and any note we made about getting in touch with you.
- The error reports the app sent while you were signed in.
- Your notification choices, and the address of every phone or browser you turned notifications on for.
What stays
- Emails you've sent us stay in our inbox until you ask us to delete them too.
- Backups. Our database provider may hold deleted data in routine backups for a short time, until those backups expire.
- Cached photos. Label photos are deleted straight away, but the web cache that serves them can keep a copy at its old address for a short while. Nothing links to that address any more.
